With little economic data out today, the US dollar is largely driven by the strength in the equity and commodity markets. Equities are slightly lower while commodities and bond yields trading lower today. The US dollar is trading mixed and is modestly higher against the EUR, AUD, NZD but lower against CAD and GBP. The US Dollar included 0.2 percent in overnight trading as stocks dropped following frank Rochdale Securities LLC analyst Robert Bove reduced Wells Fargo Bank, the biggest US home lender, after the firm issued what seemed to be a key of 3rd-quarter earnings numbers, stating the result was shaky and warning that “loan losses seem to be speeding up. The news caused the MSCI Asian Pacific regional benchmark index to drop 1.3 percent before the opening bell in Europe. Descending momentum was increased after China stated the economy developed at an annual pace of 8.9 percent in the 3rd quarter, as traders started to worry that the Asian giant is going to require tensing up financial conditions.

The Walt Disney Corporation has announced its fiscal third quarter results, posting an overall 16 per cent rise in revenues to $10.0 billion, with the numbers up by 8 per cent to $28.3 billion in the fiscal year-to-date.

Those numbers were helped in part by a strong increase in revenues year-on-year from the Interactive Media arm, which manages the videogames business.

Sales of Toy Story 3 and Split Second helped revenues jump 74 per cent for the quarter to $197 million, and 3 per cent for the first nine months to $573 million.

Great to see operators sharing more information like this with the community and being open about the performance of new initiatives. Here's the key points I noted down:

What is O2 Litmus?

- O2 Litmus is a successor to previous O2 developer initiatives such as O2 Source and Revolution

- trying to create an environment that encourages experimentation without distracting from the core business

- NOT just an appstore

- engage customers, allow them to participate, offer early adopters a role to help decide what services O2 should roll out to the mainstream

House Financial Services Committee Votes in Favor of Online Gambling Bill

Online Gambling Regulation Bill
The bill was put forth by congressman Barney Frank in an attempt to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, more commonly known as the UIGEA. This law prohibits the transfer of funds between U.S. financial institutions and online gambling companies.

Next Steps
Now the House Committee approved the bill with a substantial majority the next step on the political calendar is for the full House to vote on the bill. After that the Senate members will go to the polls and if there is sufficient support the bill will become law.

Amendments to the Bill
Several House representatives insisted on amendments, especially in the areas of consumer protection and the rights of the individual U.S. states.

The final bill contains protections against unwanted online advertising, additional measures to prevent underage gambling, and a measure for U.S citizens to opt for a voluntary gambling ban.

Excluded Gambling Companies
