THQ has taken the number one spot in the UK all format software chart, providing a glimmer of hope for the troubled publisher after a testing period.

It's the first top slot for the company since the launch of Homefront last year, despite not selling as well in its opening week as its predecessor, which only managed second place.

Undisputed is the only new entry in the week's top 40, but there has been plenty of movement with existing titles. Kingdoms of Amalur, which was last week's number one, has slipped out of the top ten to 12, after dropping 63 per cent of its sales. FIFA 12 is back to second from fifth, whilst Modern Warfare 3 is in third.

Mobango was the mjelly.com mobile 2.0 service of the week over at Mobile Zeigeist a few weeks ago. Mobango is an interesting mobile startup based in London and Italy which is a bit like the mighty getjar in that it hosts applications but it also offers other content types like ringtones, video, wallpapers and so on.

I spoke with the CEO of Mobango, Fabio Pezzotti and got some exclusive stats that show the huge scale that mobango now has in the market:

5 million unique visitors/ month
12 million visits/ month
60 million page views/ month
Downloads (2009 Jul 13 – 2009 Jul 19): 2,872,264

Registered developers: 23,245
Registered users: 4,864,284
Total Game/Application Files: 42,000

Mobango is now positioning itself as a promotional channel for application developers who can buy mobile advertising for their software on a "pay per download" basis. So - rather than paying admob for clicks, which might not lead to any installs, developers can work with Mobango on more of a CPA model.

He loves some aspects of the city and hates others, and sometimes you get the feeling he loves that he hates and hates that he loves.

What’s for sure though, Sin City is a place that leaves you with opinions.

Ok, Rex couldn’t even come up with 10 good things about Vegas.

Do you think it was easier to come up with 10 bad things?

“I must admit that this one was much easier to write. It was so easy to write that I had to force myself to cut it short, somewhere over 5,000 words, and break it into separate articles.”

So what you have to look forward to is a five-piece article with Rex hating on basically everything Las Vegas has to offer. It’s understandable why he finally decided to move.

But then again, now he lives in the Portland region, where his hate can be directed towards the high hipster density. And that, my friends, is pure hate – from the heart.
